Assistant Alyssa!
Every once in a while I have someone occasionally contact me regarding 2nd shooting or assisting in some of the photography I do... Alyssa is one of those individuals who contacted me several weeks ago via a referral!
Alyssa is a graduate of RPI with a degree in biomedical engineering and also studied photography (maybe I can learn something and finally figure out what I am doing!)..
I had a session scheduled today which was cancelled due to weather, and Alyssa still wanted to head out... We went down to the beach, here in Woodmont and I grabbed a few images.
Ya know I love the brick walls LOL!

And a little beach action here as well!

It was great heading out with ya today! Can't wait to see some of your images from today!

Character!
Well, I was in and around the beach this afternoon and I saw this old man walking along the beach and definitely needed to capture him - he had so much character.. Felt like I knew him all my life - we just chatted for a bit about life and he truly was a gem...
Grabbed this shot as he was walking towards me..

After a few minutes of confabulation he was laughing contagiously!

Manners Matter
I feel like I always say on such and such a day bla bla bla... :) On Saturday I had the tremendous opportunity to head on down to the Burroughs Community Center in Bridgeport to shoot the Manners Matter 2009 class!
Manners Matter is a program which teaches our youth proper etiquette! I was amazed as the students were speaking how little I knew and that I ought to attend one of these classes myself. I never knew that your plate should be two fingers from the edge of the table!
It's an awesome program - Shawna Ryan from Channel 12 News was also there covering the event!
The executive chef for the event!

A couple of the coaches!

One of the assistant chefs putting all the fixings' out!

And this little girl was absolutely adorable!

Some of the incredible food that was prepared for the event!

A Bit of Old Saybrook
Yesterday while I was out with a friend on his boat, I managed to grab a few images of some of the lighthouses in Old Saybrook. I've shot there before but from land, so being in the water was a real treat for me!
First a little sailboat shot! Saw this and just needed to capture the moment..

I was really digging this shot of the lighthouse - as well as the last one in this post - couldn't decide which I liked better though!

I don't do much landscape photography, but when I do do it, I really try and capture the moment, just as if it were alive!

Jared James' Book Signing at Borders
Jared's Book "Enjoy Success Today" has been doing quite well, so much so, its on the best seller's list. Yay Jared!
This afternoon I had the pleasure of covering his book signing event at Borders in the CT Post Mall.
Here are several of my favorites from the event

Prior to Jared getting seated in the big book signing chair, we went outside for a couple of minutes!

Had to definitely take a shot from behind Jared to show the crowd!

I really am diggin this shot of Jared, one thing I really noticed is that Jared really pays attention to people when they speak, he really has an interest in hearing people's stories, which really shows who he is as a person and his character.

Jared, your book signing was a great success, as always I am wishing you the best!

Shameless Self Gratuitous Maximus
Rarely do I ever receive any mail at my residence that doesn't usually end up in the trash, tons and tons of newspaper, coupons, etc; essentially a waste of natural resources, however today when I took my little garbage bag down to the mail box I had a huge surprise inside!
I received a very nice thank you note from Steph & Jeff regarding their engagement session and had to share it..
Thanks guys, it really means a great deal to me.

What matters to me most is at the end of the day being able to move someone emotionally with the work I do. To me that is the ultimate since of existentialism (at least in my book).
Thank you guys...

St. Louis Trip
So I had to go out to St. Louis for a few days to lend some technical expertise.. I brought my camera along and managed to grab a few shots.
I took this shot from my hotel room - I'm glad the window was pretty clean!

Snapped one off of the hotel lobby. Grand Renaissance Hotel on Washington in St. Louis

A shot from within America's Center where the meetings were held.

Bowling night! Everyone went bowling, they rented a room with their own lanes - I just thought this sign was pretty cool - but who names a bowling alley Flamingo LOL

Lucy's Birthday at Black Bear Saloon
Since the weather turned out to be pretty bad, a previously scheduled engagement session was postponed. I was invited by Lucy and family to her birthday party at Black Bear Saloon this past Saturday and of course had to bring my camera with me!
Lucy actually turned 39 - I previously posted 40 and - well - I made a mistake! I had a great time, so much so, I only expected to be there a couple hours and ended up staying until about 1:30 in the morning. The band, Full Circle was an awesome cover band, be sure to check out their site.
One of the many shots of Lucy during the evening!

Here you can see what a great time Lucy and her husband Tony-not-Anthony-unless-you-are-my-mom are having!

Lucy with some of her friends after they were doing a little shoe swapping!

Lucy's sister Claudia just looking great as usual!

Lucy didn't have time to introduce me to all of her friends and family, but I did manage to get a group shot in... :)
Actually I didn't realize how big this place was when I first walked in, it's pretty huge.

I had a great time and thanks again for the invite!

Hosting Changes
Folks, the website was down for 14 hours yesterday and I apologize, as a result, I cut loose my existing hosting company and signed up with a different one.
It may take a while for everything to propagate internationally, so please pardon any errors you may receive in the next 24-48 hours as it is out of my control.

Sneak Peak of the New Website
Well for the last month or so I have been working on a whole new website as I feel I need a stronger web presence than I currently do.
I am expecting it to go live in the next few days as I am just putting some finishing touches on it, but here are a couple screen snaps of the new site.

This picture of Kerry seemed to have come in handy!!!

GTB @ J'Roos Tonight (02/28)
I'm not too crazy about promoting various bands and such unless I know they would appeal to a mass audience. Groove Time does just this. If you like Motown combined with some up-beat Jazz with a little 80's Disco style music, then you have to check out Groove Time.
I'll be at J'Roos tonight in North Haven with the band, it's an awesome night out with your significant other, the band has a huge following and is very well established. J'Roos also has some incredible food (from what I hear). So find a baby sitter and join me tonight at J'Roos!

Well over the last several months I have had several people with whom I have worked with ask if I am on facebook... I always said no, I wasn't exactly sure what it even was and with managing the blog, the website, etc didn't know if I would have time or how convoluted it would be.
Finally on Sunday I checked it out and was amazed out how many of you I have worked with that are actually on there!
So feel free to check me out if you're on there as well and I haven't been able to find you yet!

Time to Sell
Every once in a while there comes a time when one has to part with his/her most valued treasures... In my case it would be my camera, without a doubt! But down the street my good friend Jeff (who is a real estate agent) is looking to move one of his monster houses! Originally sold for 1.8 in '06 is now down to 1.2 - so if anyone is interested, by all means, feel free to drop me a line and I'll put you in touch with Jeff, he just asked me to bang off a few pics for him :)
