Last Monday evening I actually met with a couple who are having their reception at the New Haven Lawn Club next year, so it was totally awesome to be able to check the place out as well as the surrounding area before hand.
The ceremony was at St Mary's and I must say the church was absolutely breath-taking. The colors were so brilliant they almost looked unreal.
After the ceremony the four of us walked around Hillhouse and the architecture was just wonderful, of course the New Haven Lawn club was totally rockin' and the moment I arrived I was scoping out the brick walls and the peeling paint and said, we definitely need to do some shooting out here after the sun goes down and fire up the video light!!! Needless to say Allison, Dave and even Rob were up for it!
When I arrived at Allison's Mom's house the dress was hanging on a door and the skylight was hitting the dress just so right, enough to grab the shot below. How awesome was that dress with the flowers kinda/sorta built right in!
Allison doing her own shoes! Imagine that!!!
Forward view of St. Mary's, how unbelievably awesome is this Church, I couldn't get enough of it!
Rear view of the Church
Couple special moments after the pronunciation!
I was digging the hand-holding and how Dave looked at Allison
Walking down Hillhouse with Robert in action!
Couple shots here of Allison & Dave
Down and around the psychology building!! How convenient!
The psych building had some serious pillars! I was loving it, definitely check out Rob's blog for another angle.
Something about a couple walking, and an angle that just absolutely does it for me.. (hmm photographically speaking - that is)
This area was so perfect - the grass nearly matched Allison's bouquet
Totally digging this shot and the expressions as well as the B&W
Little Smooch!!
Their first dance...
There was this odd, yet friendly, totally cool guy at the reception who just popped right up in fro... oh wait.. That's him! That's Mr. Robert Norman - at least part of him (his best part!!!)
I grabbed a light stand, extended it about 8 feet, put on Nikon's 14-24 and held it high above the crowd, was really digging the results - this is a time when a flip LCD screen would come in handy!
Allison and her Dad...
Okay, the following few shots have to be just - well - some of my best work... Remember earlier I mentioned the video light and the brick walls! Here we go!
Allison and Dave enjoying a little intimacy!
Loved these next few shots of Allison, she was just posing up a storm, but, it was totally natural!
Allison, Dave it was great meeting you guys! Robert, as always thanks a bunch for having me tag along..
