Myer's Session

Okay - I spent a couple hours getting the Myer's slideshow "just right" - of course I was an emotional sap the entire time - had to keep restarting and recording the fades multiple times...

Judy, the mom of Brandon and Kaitlyn was young when she came to the US from Germany with hopes of an everlasting nuptial when she was just about 20... Things didn't work out as planned.

Her mom visits once a year for about eight weeks and Judy and I scheduled a session a few weeks ago, but with the way the weather has been, it had been post-poned a few times.

Finally on Thursday things worked out - and just in time, her Mom flew back to Germany today... I had a great session with a whole butt-load of favorites - so narrowing down was quite difficult, alas here we go... Goal is always to tell a story.. For the complete slideshow click "here"

It was great working with ALL of you -

Gwendalin & Abigail

On Sunday I had the opportunity to meet two very adorable young ladies; Gwendalin who is 5 1/2 and her semi-newborn sister Abigail who is 5 months.

It was difficult finding their house! I have never been to a street where odd and even numbers are on the same side - I was totally confused and to top it off - their house wasn't really on the street, but their driveway was - thank goodness for cell phones - otherwise I would have had to find a pay phone (remember those) - and what's it like 50 cents instead of a dime.

When I arrived, their Mom Diana along with her mother and her mother-in-law were there and were so incredibly nice and fun to work with - I actually have never completed a session so quickly! We started with Miss Abigail then added in Gwendalin and then I took Gwendalin outside for a few more shots.

Here are a few of my favorites.

Gwendalin has really awesome eyes.

Thanks again Rita for booking this session - it was a great time and I look forward to watching these little ones grow up!

Kasey & Brian e-shoot

Wow! <-- Is that a legitimate way to start a sentence? Prolly not, but we can't be all grammatically correct! I previously posted a few shots from Kasey & Brian's e-ParTay and have finished up their e-shoot photos (woo hoo)...

So last Thursday I finally met Kasey & Brian in person, we've been conversing via email for a couple of weeks - they live in FL and were coming up to CT to celebrate their engagement, and Kasey said Thursday evening would work best for the both of them as that was basically their only free night (this is what happens to hot couples - always doing something!)

The weather here in CT for the last couple of weeks has been absolutely unpredictable, raining in the late afternoon and sunny by sunset - its been a bit quirky. We were suppose to meet at Ft Trumbull beach around 5ish, but that was quickly postponed due to the weather and we called back and forth and finally decided to meet at my place, and we would start here and work our way to Gulf beach for the sunset.

The minute they arrive, a few sprinkles begin to fall, but the radar says it will be clearing any minute - so they come in and have a bottle of water (protecting the innocent there) and we chat a bit. Turns out Kasey & Brian are both, two of Orlando's finest.. I was bummed that I had just found that out, cuz I would have definitely set something up with Dunkin Donuts :o) - Brian admitted that since he has been on the job he hasn't eaten donuts, but also emphasized that Krispy Kreme would be catering his retirement party... Hehehe

Anyways, Kasey & Brian, you guys were so totally awesome to work with - and as many of others have said in regards to your shoot (they are totally adorable) - I couldn't agree more.

There were some awesome awesome shots, but I had to narrow them down...

You guys really were a pleasure to work with - I really hope that I have the opportunity to shoot your wedding :0)

Kasey & Brian's e-party!

A couple months ago I had an e-shoot with Jay & Jocelyn who happened to get engaged just about the same time Jocelyn's long time friend Kasey did.

Kasey & her fiance' Brian live in Orlando and flew up this past week to celebrate their engagement with their friends and family. Brian originally hails from Pennsylvania, while Kasey was born and raised here in CT.

I met up with the couple on Thursday for an engagement session and on Friday dropped by their party at Citrus in Milford.

Here are a few of my favorites...

Look who showed up - J&J!!!

Jocelyn with a few of their friends

I really like this next shot - this guy was having an intense conversation with his cell phone :0)

I had a great time guys, it was nice to meet both of your families and I should be wrapping up with the engagement session photos in the next couple days.

Chelsea & Rachel Back off to College

Several weeks ago Chelsea and Rachel thought it would be fun to do a little photo session before retiring from work for the summer and heading back off to school. We set the date for this past Tuesday, the 12th.

We started out near an old paint-chipped garage of sorts which belongs to the fire department, and there happened to be a steam roller nearby and the girls looked like monkeys climbing all over it! I suggested that the girls go knock on the fire house and see if the department would be willing to have us take a few shots - the crew that was on that night was spectacular, they were more than happy to assist, lending fire hats, jackets, the engine and even a little first aid for when Chelsea scraped her toe on the concrete.

As a token of their appreciation, Chelsea asked if there was a pizza place nearby that delivered, needless to say the guys of Engine 9 in Milford enjoyed a pizza that evening from East Shore; complements of Chelsea & Rachel.

There really were a lot of great shots, but I had to definitely narrow it down a bit. Here is a shot of Rachel smiling it up cow-girl style!

Rachel & Chelsea on the fire truck with the lights going and all!

Rachel was texting most of the time, and at one point I framed this shot and called her name.

I'm not quite sure what's going on here - but it really does look good!

This photograph of Chelsea looks surreal, it looks like she just came out of a blazing fire!

Everyone was great during the shoot and a great big thanks to the Milford Fire Department for lending us a bit of their apparatus!

A Visit to Lover's Leap

Yesterday I was in New Milford in the early morning and got lost on the way to my destination (fun stuff) - anyways I stumbled upon this old abandoned home at the foot of one of the Lover's Leap trails. The whole area was just eerie to say the least, but the structures were a dream photographically.

This is a chimney or what's left of it from Lover's Leap

As I was walking, my leg hit this stump protruding out onto the path, and had to grab a shot of it

Then came the shack, the house, the garage, the dog house, etc and here they are

Close-up of the door of the above structure

Finally atop the trail a shot of the lake

Olivia Gets a new Baby Sister

Last October I had the opportunity to meet Olivia for the first time, little did she or anyone else know that this past July she would be introduced to her new little baby sister Eleni (pronounced like Melanie without the "Mmm"). On Saturday I met Eleni who was just around two weeks old and I also met their Mom - Elena who was not present last October. Both of the girls are just so freaking adorable its not even funny.

While I was doing the shoot I learned a bit more about Elena (their mother) and Alicia (their aunt - Elena's sister). Elena's husbands name happens to be Brian, would you know that her sister Alicia is engaged and his name is Brian.. This gets better - and you really can't make this stuff up.. Elena's ex-beaus name was also Brian, imagine that! Wait, I'm not quite done - turns out Alicia's ex was also named Brian.. (Is this a mere coincidence??) Twighlight zone theme currently running through my head!

It was a great time, the entire family is just so easy-going, even great grandma was there with her thick (just came off of the boat Italian accent) she was a trip and I enjoyed conversing with her during the shoot. Needless to say here are some of my favorites..

Here is an up-close shot of Olivia who was in Grandma's arms at the time.

She was a bit timid and kept running away from me (you would to if you saw me coming at you with a big ole camera - actually you would probably run even if I didn't have the camera!)

Here is Miss Eleni - she was so wide awake it was unbelievable -

Of course, she had the cutest little feet too, and could not help but to post this image as well.

Perhaps Alicia will be expecting sometime soon... Okay, go ahead and get married first!
