Time to Sell

Every once in a while there comes a time when one has to part with his/her most valued treasures... In my case it would be my camera, without a doubt! But down the street my good friend Jeff (who is a real estate agent) is looking to move one of his monster houses! Originally sold for 1.8 in '06 is now down to 1.2 - so if anyone is interested, by all means, feel free to drop me a line and I'll put you in touch with Jeff, he just asked me to bang off a few pics for him :)

Baby Sofia

Last year I received a call from Cindy (hope she spells it that way) - who wanted to set up a newborn shoot for her daughter Lauren from her brother Brian (confused yet!) - Lauren and Brian are siblings and Brian wanted to gift a newborn session to Lauren and her husband.

On Saturday I had the opportunity to meet little Sofia and their parents Lauren and Joe as well as Laurens parents' and her grandmother at their residence in Branford.

I had so many favorites as this little gem was so cooperative - we thought it was because Sofia felt like she was swimming in a tub of milk! She kept licking the backdrop and drooling everywhere, it was so adorable!

Here are several shots from the session.

Nice little expression caught on Sofia's face while Lauren and Joe each held her tiny little hands.

Near the end of the session as I was getting up from a shot Sofia looked me square in the lens! Couldn't resist taken the shot, the light was setup from her right side so you see the moire effect (so-to-speak).

Look Mommy & Daddy I'm swimming in Milk - Yum!

She had such a personality for only 4 months young.

I just loved this (oops uh oh) I did something wrong look on her face with the drool still attached to the bath of milk!!!

This shot was luck, pure luck - its also the reason its not completely framed as I was moving away from Sofia she started turning herself and I released the shutter just in time before she moved her little fist.

She was definitely a very happy baby!

Here we see Lauren and Joe with their little Angel!

I had a great afternoon with you guys - sorry that I didn't take you up on eating lunch with you - those sandwiches sure looked good though!

Tall Horses @ Augurs Pub

I got a call a couple months back from Ted, formerly of the Johnny Law Band asking if I would come down to Augurs Pub in Guilford on the 24th of January to take some shots of his new band Tall Horses.

It's a cute little Irish Pub tucked away in Guilford on Water street. Tall Horses is an acoustic trio cover band and they have a few songs of their own as well, much in the style of Stones, Clapton, Black Crowes, Neil Young and the Allman Brothers just to name a few, be sure to check out their website for more information.

Here are some of my personal favorites from Sat night starting from the outside looking in!

I know Ted said they have only played out for 6 months or so, but they sounded pretty tight to me already :)

The Art Teacher!

Yesterday I had the privilege to shoot Ms. Lynn at her home in Newtown! She wanted a few head shots with a back-drop - but you know me, I try to get away from that as much as possible, and I must say I really liked the results of some of the less studio-like shots.

Lynn was telling me all about her Pentax SLR and she had some incredible B&W photos hanging through-out her home - she is an awesome photographer - guess it goes hand in hand with her being an art teacher!

She had three wonderful Siamese cats too!

Here are a couple of my favorites!

This next shot reminds me of some of my teachers expressions when I was in school - that serious look where you don't know if you're in trouble or if you just did something really impressive!!!

Miss Kate!

Had a little session on Sunday with this wonderful young lady Kate! She was saying that she got a Wii for Christmas and her arms were a little sore from playing tennis, but she was a trooper!

This one image showed Katie's complete personality so I had to go with this one for the blog!

In Front of the Camera (Scary!)

Okay so I was getting ready for a session this afternoon and needed a body - so I had to use my own, gosh this is why I am behind the camera, lucky for me I have some good glass and nothing broke.

Anyways I was going for some dramatic lighting and I was really pleased with the results...

I make for such a terrible subject! LMAO

For the super five star over the top studio setup for these two shots - check out this mess! The chair is purposely on its side (patio furniture came in handy) for creating the blue streaks on the backdrop.
